As I was walking away, two kids opened the hood.  I walked back, but unfortunately didn't get to take any pictures.  I did see a Holley dual feed, looked like from a 390 GT Fairlane on a cast iron 57 intake, stock appearing Ford distributor, and stamped steel rocker covers.  I asked the one kid if it had a cam in it, he said I think so, thought it had a four barrel, and his dad built the headers.  He also mentioned something about boring it 60 over, but using only 30 over pistons, ???, and said it was his dad's car.  Do the headers look home made or what?  This car has been around for a long time in the area.

Regards,

Dennis

How come it has never been at Columbus? 292 in a 57? I would have thought it would have the 312, 245 horse.

High performance 292 badge, is that stock for 57? Few oddities here.

No idea why its never been to Columbus.  This car is no recent build.  It is an old local NHRA stocker from back in the 60's or early 70's that runs at Milan Dragway.  The 292 fender ornaments look like they were made from a 64 Fairlane, Falcon, or Mustang 260 or 289 badge, and a 289 High Performance ornament.

Dennis

If I remember correctly he runs in the high 17's. I've talked to Joe a few times, nice guy. He lives real close to Milan Dragway so he's there quite often. His family runs 2 or 3 cars there, one is a Pinto painted the same scheme. Next time I see him I'll mention Columbus to him.
