Mark, you've probably already seen this on SF Craigslist, but You might get a bell housing cheap.
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/pts/2579726493.html
According to www-y-block.com the casting number ECG 6015B Equals a 272 Ford Y-Block. It's bored .030 has a slight carbon ridge, and turns over easily. What I have is the short block with 4 speed bellhousing, water pump, distributor, valley pan.2 left hand exhaust manifolds,1 right hand exhaust manifold,2 barrel manifold plus oil bath air cleaner;also a front motor mount Missing Fly Wheel and Clutch Parts, Dipstick, Harmonic Ballancer and of course Heads. Been sitting for awhile and I don't know any kind of mileage history. Cylinder walls have some staining, but no rust or pitting. $110.00 o.b.o.
The only thing is 4 speed bellhousing sounds truck.
I'm not connected in any way just read cl ads for 312.
