You want new? Try Carpenter's, Mac's, Concour Parts, etc. You might want to try a local spring shop. If they have been in business for any length of time, they have the specs and should be able to make them up for you.

A couple of places I would contact are Eaton Springs in Detroit, and McVeigh Springs in Mio Mi. Both have web sites. Don't your in-laws live in SE MI.? Maybe they could do a "road trip" for you if find something at one of those places.

I got a set of rear springs for my '56 Victoria a couple of years ago from JAMCO in Santa Rosa, California. 707-544-4950. They had the best price I could find at the time, shipment was prompt. I'm happy with them. Hope this helps.

Thanks fellas for the leads. A few of these I have already checked out and the prices really surprised me. To have almost $600 invested in a set of stock springs is a little bit steep I would think. But then again, what do I know about the market?

Daniel: If your main leaves are good, a local spring shop should be able to supply the remaining leaves, cut to length for you. Their clamps probably don't match the originals, but they should function properly for you. Then again, my local shop guy told me that leaf springs are becoming dinosaurs, his only stock is old stock, and it's getting thin.

Fellas, thanks for all of the replies. You get a lot of help on this forum, that's for sure. After following this thread here... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?do=discuss&discussionid=17753 I went with the JC Whitney springs, especially since I am told that they get their springs from Eaton and that 55-56 owners have them in use. Can you believe $288 shipped out the door, with a set of bushings installed??? The convertible is not a big time show car, but I did want something close to stock. thanks again!
