Are all the Y's guys down there safe?  The extent of the flooding looks like the worst I can remember.  I sure hope everyone is OK!

46yblock,

I don't know how much the media is covering in the US. Here for the people and areas affected pretty dismal. Queensland was flooded in December as well but Ophra was in town and only two tv channels were covering the flood. Most of Australia has been in Drought for 10 years. A mixed blessing.

For the families of 15 confirmed dead, 61 missing and the thousands who will have to rebuild thier lives my heart goes out to them. I don't know if anyone on the forum is from the affected areas, it could be quite some time before we hear from them.

Australia is a land of extreams and in a glass have full senario. I spent 8 days and did about 3200km on a motorcycle over the xmas holidays. And several more trips on the lead up to Xmas. As far north as Kinaroy and south to Batmans bay and west in a line through the middle of three states. The land from rain is as good as I've seen it in in only a hand full of times in my 46 years. Truely amazing.

At least the floods have put an end to the bloody Drought.

My feet are dry and will remain dry in Sydney.

Regards

Warren Adams

They have covered it some here in the states. Last image I saw was a car bobbing in the water as it was being swept down the "road" by a wall of water. Warren, your description of your motorcycle trip is one of those things on my "bucket list". Hope everyone stays safe.

From my visits to Lon's they are high and dry on a hill. Now Jason and Darryl's house may not be so lucky, I think it was low lying near a creek. I never made it to Brads place that I can remember. But I hope all are safe and Darryl's shop did not get Flooded.

Speaking of Darryl, we need to keep him in our prayers for his cancer. Haven't heard any updates,"LON"

God Bless all and hope all Y Blokes can swim.

Thank you all for inquiring about Lynne & I . We are safe & sound (and dry ) .Queensland has just had the worst flood in about 50 years.Right now the whole East coast of Au is in flood . I don't think that has ever happened all at  once before ?? Last week a wall of water  from a massive storm cell, somewhere around 10-20 ft tall came over the side of the Toowoomba mountain range ( approx 2000ft ).Toowoomba is only 50 mile West of Brisbane .It totally wrecked two small towns ,Grantham & Murphys Creek .This ,combined with 3 weeks of heavy rain ( about 24 inches in 3 weeks ) ,swollen rivers ,king tides ,and all dams @ 100% capacity . It had to happen .20 dead ,and counting .Houses and cars can always be replaced .People can not be replaced .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuYkKir3LF4

Our thoughts and Prayers go out to all those who were affected .

Bill ,

Darryl is doing fine right now . His operation went well and everythig is good for now.He has to go back for a check up every month .Darryl has got plenty of work to do .His son Jayson makes sure he doesn't have too much spare time .The Mustang has had a repaint ,motor rebuild .Darryl is busting to finish the next project ,56 4 dr Victoria .No major flooding at his place .Next is the 52  Ford pick-up ,then the 1928 Reo Hot Rod with the 5 inch chop .I told him to give me a call if he runs out of work ????

Lon

PS .A BIG "Thank You " to everyone at Columbus who signed his "Get Well " card. That meant a lot to him .
