46yblock,I don't know how much the media is covering in the US. Here for the people and areas affected pretty dismal. Queensland was flooded in December as well but Ophra was in town and only two tv channels were covering the flood. Most of Australia has been in Drought for 10 years. A mixed blessing.
For the families of 15 confirmed dead, 61 missing and the thousands who will have to rebuild thier lives my heart goes out to them. I don't know if anyone on the forum is from the affected areas, it could be quite some time before we hear from them.
Australia is a land of extreams and in a glass have full senario. I spent 8 days and did about 3200km on a motorcycle over the xmas holidays. And several more trips on the lead up to Xmas. As far north as Kinaroy and south to Batmans bay and west in a line through the middle of three states. The land from rain is as good as I've seen it in in only a hand full of times in my 46 years. Truely amazing.
At least the floods have put an end to the bloody Drought.
My feet are dry and will remain dry in Sydney.
