P.S. ..... snout on crank has been ' pinged' with a chisel, i guess to tighten up clearance on balancer, like knurling i suppose.......i do not recall doing this,nor do i recall having a problem with balancer. I sold vehicle---57 Ford. and later reclaimed/bought it, from an auto repair shop where i saw it a couple years later. Stripped and sold what was left. Have had this crank since 86.  Thanks !
