Do any of you Y blockers have a set of Edelbrock valve covers lying around that you're interested in selling? They'd go to a good home.

I got mine off of ebay for $250 bucks on a buy it now. They were a little bit rough, but I have since polished them to perfection.

I know it'll be a little while. But you can't catch a fish if you don't have a line in the water. Just checking...

Bump to the top. Anyone know of any Edelbrock valve covers available? This pair was just listed on eGay, and I think that the price is going to get out of hand.
Anyone have a set they would like to sell to a loving home?

They are not the most common item but you can get them cheaper than $360 and in a lot better condition.

We have all been fighting for years to get proper recognition of the Y-Blocks. Looks like its finally happening and we are going to suffer for it. Prices are going up almost daily and really rare parts are coming out of the woodwork for outrageous prices. Maybe we should have been a more humble and kept our passion cheap. Thats the double edged sword. Not enough aftermarket volume to bring prices down on production. Scrubs get cheaper and we get more expensive. Darn, if we only knew. Chuck in NH

It will spike and come back down to sane levels when the aftermarket starts to catch back up. Now people are saying, "oh wow, my old stuff is worth something" but when almost the same thing can be purchased new for less, the prices will fall. When that new Edelbrock intake finally becomes available, it will put a cap, so to speak, on the vintage manifolds. I don't think we'll ever be as cheap as a Chevy.

Even the new Offy or Moon Y Block valve covers are around $260, which seems to be the standard rate for them, but alluminum valve covers for a SBC are like $90... Its crazy all around John

They ended up going to $562, and they are cracked. Someone has too much money.

Went to the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona,Ca. Saturday and Vic Jr was signing autographs at the Edelbrock display trailer. So I walked up and asked him about the tripower manifold for the Y-block and he said it was in tooling now and should be released to the public before summer to go with their new carbs, also should have progressive linkage for it too. Also stated that they had new valve covers and air cleaner for it! Asked if they were working on anything else for the "Y" and responded with a "NO". There goes the new dualquad manifold I was hoping for or headers.Must be jumping on the nostalgia bandwagon to make a buck.Maybe John will make a dualquad manifold setup for modern carbs--got 4 holes down how about 8!LOL KID

I wonder about the new repop valve covers; whether they are EVER going to release Y stuff and how many limbs they want to charge for it. I know that are saying the "new" Holley 94's are ready- but I was unwilling to buy them because of the price. Cheaper to get a used one and rebuild it.

I checked Edelbrock, Jeg's, Summit, etc. No price listed and Summit and Jeg's don't list them in their catalogs as of a this morning. Very curious to see what they will be asking.

If any of you guys are on Facebook you can go to the "Edelbrock Performance" wall HERE, click that you "like" them, and then comment that you want them to re-pop their valve covers for y-blocks.

It seems to me by a few comments here and there that if the covers are remade, like most things they,ll be too pricey for most so back to square one.

Demand is increasing which is why used prices are increasing. If we don't ask for new stuff, prices will only increase because fewer and fewer will be available with more and more people wanting some. They may not be cheap to begin with but I guarantee that if we don't ask for them, we'll be in a worse position 5 or 10 years down the road. The only way to get prices down is to get new stuff in production. The way we do that is by showing the companies capable of producing them that there is a demand. When new stuff is readily available it tends to impact the used parts market, and the used parts generally go down in price. At that point, only the period correct purist will fork out the dough for a pristine original set, possibly paying more for them than the new set they can buy.
Nothing is going to be cheap for the Y-block, compared to the rest, when it's first produced. That's just a cold hard fact. It'll take time for prices to come down but don't expect to ever be paying sbc prices for parts.

Better to ask and receive, then to never ask at all. They might be more reasonable than what people are wanting for their used stuff right now. It's worth a shot in my opinion.

I could just kick myself right now! TWO reasonably priced sets came through on the HAMB and I was too late on both.
Bump to the top. If anyone has a set they are looking to part with I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Ryan

If they went for $535,then there wasn't any last minute craziness..they were at that price with a few hours to go..Saw some used, but very nice condition ones on Ebay yesterday.Don't know how long they were on,but looks like someone did the BIN at,I think I remember,$499

I made the same mistake. I bid up to $525 and figured they'd go for the price of a black market kidney and didn't look again. I about tipped over when I say they went for 535! Another opportunity missed! Grrr. I'll be patient and get a set sooner or later.

That's good news and a good price. I figured people were bidding on them at $500 and these are going for $425 shipped and are NOS. Not a bad deal for some. A little too rich for my blood. I got a set of Blue Thunders for $125 brand new so I'm happy.
