Can't wait to see picks, I hope all had a SAFE  /fun weekend!!!   So the Pinto won both days, what did it run??

I can't wait to see all the results, but tell me how did "OLD Lonnie" fair, did he take my $50.00???  Tongue

The pinto was running mid 11.40s and very consistent.

Rob:

Lon got paired up with Mickey Bogden in I believe the second round.  Mickey did the better job, so I guess you have another year of bragging rights.  Oh dear!  Oh, "OLD Lonnie" did get the better of Wally.

Just after I posted, Jerry called with an update. The dragster hadn't been tested anywhere before going to Ohio and suffered teething problems as could be expected...water leaks and tranny oil leak....was only able to make two passes the whole w/end.  His first full run on the car was a 15 sec. shake-down run ,followed later by  an easy 10.60. He wasn't able to fix the oil problem to the satisfaction of the track officials and wasn't allowed to make any more passes..    Barry L

Amusing video. When did Jerry Christenson grow a beard?
By mctim64 - 14 Years Ago
Ah!  Red Green, my hero!
By Hoosier Hurricane - 14 Years Ago
John:

Odd that you should ask that question.  Jerry does have a beard very similar to Red's, and the same color too.

Reds use of duct tape is legendary! I believe he is actually from the Carolina's. I always thought he was a Maine product? Chuck in NH

I will try to get to Ted's this next weekend and get pictures and videos so that I can get the site updated with the latest stuff.

Red Green is definetly a Canuck.I dont think the neighbours south of the Canadian border would get some of the humour on his show-but we up north here sure do!And I know the Aussies wouldnt understand any of it.They are still working on Ricky and Lucy.

Hey OldCarMark:

I take exception!  We here in northern MN USA live further north than about 50% of your Canadian population (lower Ontario - mostly); and we do, indeed, enjoy (and understand) Red Green, completely!

"Heck", my grandfather came into this country, in about 1895, starting from Stockholm by ship to Liverpool, then by ship again to Montreal, then by Canadian Rail to Sault St. Marie, then walked across the bridge (no customs!) to Sault St. Marie Michigan, then by ship (the America sidewheeler steamship) to Duluth MN.

In some respects, we here probably relate better to our "northern" neighbors (neighbours) than we do the rest of the U. S!

So there!  Hurumph!

Regards,   JLB

Thats great to hear.BUT I think you have at least some Canuck background and have likely USED duct tape at some point.Call yourself a  Canuck when it comes to Red Green.I wont tell anyone you are not.

Ted, ......how did you go at columbus? thank you, regards bill.
The altered ran good other than sorting through some fuel issues.  Changed the oil before the event but as the spark plugs were just put in last year, those were left alone.  Changed fuel brands at the event and although the octane level was adequate, apparently the fuel density or burn characteristics was different and the et’s didn’t start picking back up until I used yet another brand of fuel to dilute the existing fuel out of the system.  Driver (me) was off pace first couple of days but my lights started coming back around on Sunday.  Better late than never on that.  Made quarter finals of Bracket I and semi-finals of Y Shootout on Sunday so I’d say I was having a good time.  Made so many passes Sunday running two classes that I actually lost count.
