I've been thinking of getting these for my 54 in case I get a flat so the wheel will come down more. These are 3-4 inches long - don't they limit compressed travel so if you go over the bump you are liable to bottom out?

Thanks

Somewhere out there are part numbers for the F150 rear shocks. They are a couple inches longer than the car and work well on a lowered car. My 56 has 3" blocks on the rear and I can now get my wheels off without flipping the rear shackles. I've forgotten the part numbers though. Chuck in NH

These are for a truck, shock # Gabriel Ultra G63398, I've heard good reports on these and they'll be going on my 55 when it hits the road in the spring. Gary

Hello Guys! Those Gabriel shocks do the trick.I have them on mine with the lowering blocks.Work great.A suggestion if you use them.Give them a light sanding before installing and spray paint black.Look stock.Paul-you can use extensions without a problem. The shocks on yours now are like the ones I had on mine and a lot of others have the same. They are too short to allow the axle to drop enough to remove the wheels. If you dont want to replace them just get the extensions as I did before changing shocks.
