I think Charlie and I have got all the bugs worked out of our lives, for the time being anyway, so we will be running the "Yellow Brick" this weekend on the lake bed. A few new mods to the original engine will hopefully set a new record in our class (E/PP). Looking for better than 120, would love to see 125. I wish we could have that nice cool weather they had in May but who knows everything might just click. Wish us luck and say a prayer for a good "safe" run. Thanks!

Best of luck guys hope you bump that record a good bit. Things are looking pretty good here looks like the motor is not hurt to bad. Looks like we just got a head gasket and locked up our vacuum pump.Going to pull the car apart and swap over to a four speed maybe we will see the both of you at Bonnieville 2011. Stay safe and show them how a Y-Block can run. Sam

From what I have read about and heard the track conditions were less than Ideal.

Here's the video of the second run on Sat. if you listen at the beginning you can hear the starter say "the course is horrible" then watch about the middle of the run it got a little exciting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS--oxPhPXc

Yeah, still after that record. Maybe next month. If everything goes as we planned it will be witnessed by four hooligans from Finland.

Did you guys find the additional power you were looking for?

charliemccraney (6/15/2010) Did you guys find the additional power you were looking for?We are still chasing it around with the tuning, I will say this that the new cam builds more torque in the higher rpm range. you can feel it in the seat of your pants and you can see the rpm climb better in top gear, that's why I think the top speed will be there if I just get to fourth a little quicker. If the truck hadn't got a little squirrely on me I would not have let off and had more time to build speed. By the way this is not an easy vehicle to shift with the shifter position and how you are strapped in.

Is that something you can improve? Faster shifting = faster speed.

Charlie told me after this last run that I can bend it anyway I like. I want to get it right between my legs, as it is now I have to kinda bend my right leg out a little to be on the gas and be able to reach the shifter, and remember you wear hand restraints too.

Very cool video Tim got my heart rate up a little and I'm just watching on the computer. It sound good and it seemed to me to still be pulling rpms at the traps. I think the lack of traction and the fact you had to pedal it was the killer. Good track good air it will run the number. This of coarse come from my endless LSR experance (thats counting both passes)
