I AM ALSO LOOKING FOR AN ALUMINUM THERMOSTAT HOUSING FOR A CAR, A TRUCK, TIMMING COVER AND A WATER PUMP. I WONDER IF THERE WERE ENOUGH PRE-PAID ORDERS IF FRANK COULD BE TALKED INTO TRYING TO MAKE THEM AGAIN. I DID NOT NEED THEM WHEN REBOP HAD THEM FOR SALE, AND THOUGHT I JUST ORDER THEM WHEN I NEEDED THEM. NOW I KNOW THAT WHEN SOME ONE MAKES A PART FOR US, THEY HAVE TO INVEST. NOT ONLY A LOT OF TIME,BUT THERE OWN MONEY, AND SOMETIMES THE RETURN COMES BACK SO SLOWLY IT IS NOT WORTH THE RISK. IF YOU SEE ANY THING THAT THE GUYS HAVE HELPED US WITH,PLEASE STEP AND BUY EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT READY FOR IT. IT MAY NOT BE THERE WHEN YOU DO NEED IT!!!! TOM

The ones Red's advertises are Rebop's, since Frank is no longer making them the may not be available. Won't hurt to try though...

Guys, I also ordered one from Red's for my F100's 292 and just got an email notice today saying their stock is gone. They anticipate them to not be available until at least June. The delay is due to a transfer in ownership for the tooling. Do any of you guys have an F100 water neck where the cast-in tube out the bottom isn't all rotten like all the ones I find in the salvage yards? Nick

montego_gto (3/8/2010) Do any of you guys have an F100 water neck where the cast-in tube out the bottom isn't all rotten like all the ones I find in the salvage yards? Nick The length of tubing for the water hose connection in the thermostat housing is easily pressed out and a new one installed. It’s ½” diameter on the ’54 models and 5/8” diameter on the rest.

One of my spare Thermostat housing actually has the tube in cast iron? Part of the overall casting...

Ive successfully repaired a couple of them by removing all the old insert and them tapping the housing for 3/8 NPT. I use the "Help" nipples. I've used #56358 which has no hex and once the hose is installed its really hard to tell it isn't stock. The other one is #56152 which has a hex.

Mike: I have a truck housing with absolutely no rust on the nipple because it is new. Aftermarket, looks like the original but with no casting number. Never been on an engine. $15 plus shipping will buy it.

John, sorry to take so long to get back to you but I missed the post. My housing is just fine, I am replacing the intake with aluminum and had intended on polishing it. Wanted the housing to match. Decided a couple days ago to paint the new intake so now it won't matter. Thanks for the offer. Mike
