I don't recall what was in the Bird for power, but the Willys Thrushmobile ran a roller cammed 430 Lincoln.

The one you saw last year was Jerry Christensen's 56 Blackbird. The 57 pictured above hasn't been out for a few years, I bought it as a roller and I'm ssslllooowwwwly getting a new Y engine together for it. Barry L

The first one is Mickey Bogden from Canada. Unique front bumper is had crafted from aluminum and polished. Looks original except there is no flat place with slotted holes for a license plate. He says it weighs 10 pounds. We also forgot Gordon Payne, although the only way he could get the wheels up on that car is with a jack.

You mean Jack, as in "Rousch" Chuck in NH

John. Tried to find a picture of your ‘Bird with a jack under it but to no avail. Here’s a pic of Gordon driving it and also another shot I found of the kind of competition Gordon was lined up with.

There's an angle for convincing her to go to Columbus. There are always some 'birds.

On a quick look through - I'd say that Black is a pretty popular color for drag T-birds.....

There are always some 'birds. You know Charlie I would have no problem getting her to come to Columbus but as a teacher she can't get away at that time in the year. She did say that she might be able to do without me for a week so I could drive back there one year, which I hope to do sometime with the Alaskan on the back of my truck and a Front Engine Dragster in tow.
