if anyone is interested, J C Whitney sells a window channel part that fits perfect in the rear side window (quarter window?) for the 1957 Fairlane 64B body style (two door post).  so far I have installed this in the top channel of my rear side windows.  I will post the exact part number and a pic or two if there is any interest... oh yeah, its quite affordable compared to some "specialty" parts suppliers out there...

lemme know.

Mark    I am always interested in a lower cost way to do this.  I do not have a 57 but I do have a 56 Club Sedan.  When I first bought my 47 Ford Sedan it had a bent shock on the rear and JCW had a good part to replace for a very good price.  Thanks, Bob

the JCW part/item number is: 184852

with description: "steel core window channel"

price for a 6 ft stick is $28.99

its basically a "U" shaped channel with round beaded edges at the open side, black fuzzy/felt on three sides in the channel, with a black rubberized outer finish; best of all, its flexible and can be shaped into the gentle curve of the top of some car windows, like on the 57, so that it matches the curve of the top of the glass as it meets the upper travel/channel in the window opening.  I attached mine to the window trim piece first using some adhesive, then when dry, installed the trim piece back on the car...

now, if I can get the rest of the weatherstripping done this easy, it will be almost like taking candy from a baby!

good luck if you try it.
