Need a dual pulley to run an extra belt for the power steer pump, unless there is a serpentine belt conversion available. Easier if some one in Australia had one, but will pay air freight from U.S. if necessary.

For whats its worth, I think most of the Merc's had the double pulley. I'm sure a lot of the Fords had them too.

Pete:

The factory PS cars used an extra pulley that bolted to the existing damper.  That gave you two grooves.  Is that what you want?  '54-'56 used a 1/2" wide belt, '57 and later used 3/8".  Pegleg's repop supercharger drive pulley would work, I believe it has two grooves though.

Pete , What John said is true ,they bolt on . I have one sitting on my work bench , waiting to go on the Vicky .A lot of Aussie "Star " models had Power Steer . I have a complete "Star " model PS ram to be fitted .They use a ram with the tie rods bolted to the ends .One end is conected to the pitman arm , the other end is bolted to the chassis. It does not use an idler arm .Try "Cusso Bill " or John at John's Rod & Custom ?? Send me a PM and I will give you the phone # .You could try the Cusso Car Club of Victoria ? Someone may have an old Y laying around ??

Thanks for the info I always thought the dual pulley was a complete dampner, different from the single one. My panel has an XJ6 Jag front end in it so to use the Jag p.s. pump I will have to make/ modify a bracket to suit although useing a customline pump would solve a lot of stuffing around. Would just have to get hoses made up to suit.
