1955 Mercury Transmission

I looking for a tail shaft & tail shaft housing & driveshaft for a 55 or 56 Mercury. I have a good Fordomactic Tranny that I will take the tail housing off & put the Merc. on. The back tranny mount on a Ford is 2" from back of tranny & Merc. tranny mount is about 9 1/2" from back of tranny.

I have a complete air cooled trans out of a running 55 Mercury 2-door ht.  I'm willing to trade for youe complete 55 air cooled Fordomatic (in running cond) if it is the correct overall length for my 55 Ford Convertible.  I'm in Birmingham.  Thanks, Gary 205-706-7614

Gary ,  if you dont make a deal with Rovision , i have two air cooled trans, one out of a 55 crown ,and the other out of a early 56  victoria.....................Sam..................West central  Florida

I still have the 55 Merc tranny.  In the spring I plan to go to Destin on vacation.  How far do you live fron there?

Did you sell this 55 Merc Xmission? I am in the market and will be in Ft Myers area this month....I see that the last thread was a long time ago but I am still looking???

I needed just the opposite of what you need.  I put the 55 Merc tranny in my Ford Sunliner.  The tranny shop "may" still have the old Merc tail shaft and housing.   That was about 10 months ago  ... what are the parts worth?  I might drive the 35 miles and take a look.
