I have a set of 4 15" x 5" steel wheels for sale.  I beleive all to be straight.  They are originals (have the FoMoCo stamp on the center section).  These have the rivited center section.

They have been primed/painted Fiesta Red, but are used.  Depending on your hubcaps, you may or may not have to repaint them.  They are dirty, too.  But there is NO rust on these; should work fine as is or repainted depending on your standards.

Anybody interested before they go on ebay?  Id like to get $50 - $60 per wheel, plus shipping.  Would also like to sell the set of 4 vs. individually.

Thoughts?

KH stamped also? If put on a known straight hub & runout measured, I might then be interested.

Once again a location would be helpful...

Sorry; im used to other forums that have locations in the info bar.  Im in northern illinois, about 40 miles outside of chicago, near the wisconsin border.

Daniel,

Where would the KH be stamped?  The problem i have is that the FoMoCo stamps are barely discernable, as these rims have been stripped, epoxy primed, painted, and clear coated.  There is a fair bit of paint, especially on the center section.  Any ideas where I could look for that?  Any other way to tell than the stamps?

As for being true, I could probably put them on my front (now true!) hubs and get some measurements... not sure what would count as acceptable?  I do know that when I measured them a while ago 3 of the 4 measured very well, and the one that was not is the one that was on the now known bad hub, so....

KH stamp opposite the FoMoCo logo, in same position (between the lug holes), other side. If wheels an original SET, and FoMoCo logo still visible on some, so should KH if it's there.

You might consider just getting them media blasted (if they really measure true) and primed with red oxide (no color came on back of my original 55 wheels), as even if sold to someone with a Fiesta red car, they would likely want to repaint. That should make stamps visible?

P.S. More than 1/32" lateral runout (bead area) would eliminate them from consideration. Not sure what vertical limit should be.

Correction: Quoted info was from resto manual. After examining my OWN wheels, it appears the relationship between the two stamps is more random. Could also be between adjoining holes.

Itman,

See above: Riveted 15X5", both FoMoCo & KH logos, NO visible damage. Required .020" max lateral runout (factory spec.) would coincide with low mileage. '55 examples often have no color on back (red oxide primer turned chocolate brown).

As the equipment/skill needed to properly true 50s steel wheels seems virtually unobtainable nowadays, I for one would be happy to pay top dollar just to avoid the hassle of locating/testing that service. Those that actually WILL risk the legal responsibility, often can not deliver a high level of precision.

If you still have them would you consider selling just two of them?
