Lifters Car Club and others are putting on an event at Barona Raceway July 25th. Rock-a-billy bands, drag racing, car show. Cars are 1965 and older, lots of Ratrods, tatoos and flat black paint. Will check to see if I can find any Y-Block powered cars. Be there or be square.

I guess I have to be square. Too far on such short notice.

Hey, I don't get out much. The 15 mile drive to Barona Raceway seems like I'm playing hooky from work. I'll take the camera and bring back some pics. I saw Jim Priz on the highway this morning, customized 55 T-Bird pics on my site and a very nice Stude p/u about 53 vintage. Looked like they were both headed that way.

The "Mainiac" will be right there John, Just let me call the airlines and use some miles up. Theres only one problem, Today is the 26th so I guess I missed it. Anyway, Welcome to the site, Great to have you here. I finally spent this weekend putting together some stuff I got from you (2 years ago) after spending 2 years on a shop project. Now I need to start spending some more money on Y's. I also have a set of heads that is not mentioned on your site, they were on a well drilling rig, if I remember correctly they are ECR - D or something like that, sodium exhaust valves, with the smallest combustion chamber I have ever seen on a Y head. There is nearly no step between the flat of the head and the start of the combustion chamber. High compression industrial head. Again, we welcome your wealth of knowledge and the hard work you are doing to bring back the Y and produce the much needed aftermarket parts. Bill

John, Thanks for ALL the pix. I especially liked the 57 f100 with the short skirts. I truly believe there is more interest now in nostalgia, suede and interesting engines like the Y-Block. In your welcome thread you asked if we were going to Bonneville. Yes, we leave next week and the first day of racing is Saturday August 8th. Tim and I installed the new 258 cu. in. de-stroked motor Saturday, it sounds great and different with a little more compression. Tim has (softly) twisted my arm for months to build this new engine with some interesting changes (still no after market parts inside). I will take it to Fresno tomorrow for some chassis dyno hp and tune info.

Good luck Charlie, John, I guess the rear end of those girls does form a Y so maybe you weren't wandering on us, you still had the Y in mind, just not the engine though.

It's a problem with attention span. I'm easily distracted. I hope no one was offended! It was a Rock-a-billy fest, not just cars.

Hehe. We must have the same attention span.

I know my eyes are not as good as they used to be, but it appears that one of the pictures shows two girls holding hands. And another shot looks like someone is attending the "drags" in "drag". Please tell me I'm wrong.

Sub sailors don't count in the general population! I've never met a crazier bunch of guys. Did a lot of drinking with them at the chiefs club in Helemano, HI. And I say that with respect!

Hey Royce, The dyno runs have been delayed until Monday because the 57 dizzy with pertronix was not giving consistent timing light readings. Tim changed springs and everything is solid now. I'll let you know how it goes...........
