By Apache - 15 Years Ago I'm very curious to what size tires ya'll run (14"s) And i'm curious how wide your whitewalls are.. 2-2 1/4" whitewalls seem really thin to me? Please help..thanks ;-) By crenwelge - 15 Years Ago It all depends on how you want your car to look. White walls went from the whole side of the tire being white down to a pin stripe in the late 60's. I thought my 56 Ford looked sharp with 14" Firestone 500 825x14 tires with about a 1" stripe in the early 60's. But I was young and single then and had different tastes. I even built a spacer so the wider 14" wouldn't rub on my upper ball joint. By Apache - 15 Years Ago YES!!!! I have a 57' Fairlane 500... 2 door black and white, with the gold trim of course... So I think I nice whitewall would look great 1" is def too small for my taste, i don't want a full whitwall bc it's not a rolls, I was curious what everyone was running, I'm thinkin on a f78-14 or g78-14 size (205/70-14, 215/70-14) PLUS IF ANYONE HAS PICS THAT'D BE AWESOME!!!! By speedpro56 - 15 Years Ago I took 205/ 70/ 14 off my 57 2dr custom sedan because they looked sooooo small. On went 215/ 75/ 14s and the stance is much better to my eyes Would have liked to have put on 2 1/5 inch wws cause they do look cool but too many other projects going on and requires more funds than I'd like to spend but the 56 crown, 56 merc conv,and 56 Tbird must get finished sometime in my lifetime. Like, those are tooooo small for what i'm wanting... Guess it'd be easier to go to the next car show and find the size i want...lol
