Found a car local - doesn't run been garaged for years. VERY solid, has a Y in it probably a 239. It is complete - the headliner but the bows are still in the car. Chrome is pitted but the mouldings look real good. The left front fender has some plastic in it, close examination tells me it was a bad dent repair. Here are some pics...............

Hi Greg,

Was there a question here that I missed?  It looks like a pretty good car from the pics but getting all the surface rust off the underside will take some doing. If is is a rust belt car I would be concerned that there was rust on more than just surfaces,  like inside the frame and of course the front crossmember.  But those 54 Vickys are very attractive cars.

I am working to put something together on it. I don't know where the car is from - it belonged to his late uncle. It has been garaged for a long time. It looks good all over the bottom side. It's on a railed trailer so it was hard to take pics. I was able to see it underneath better than the pics show.

I had in mind;

Wash it real good, lol.

Fix whatever it needs to get it roadworthy.

I will clean up the lower side and paint it with POR or similar for now.

Fix the drivers front fender.

Get some wide whites.

Pinstripe it.

Fender skirts?

Drive it while improve the rest of the car til the Unis is done then I would get into it deeper.

May consider a OD tranny for it too.

May swap in a 292, I have another I have made a deal on but need to go get it.

Is there a front disc brake swap that works on these?

Like your ideas Greg, sounds good, they sure are a nice looking car, one of my favourites actually.

The Granada/Versailles.Monarch spindle swap works real good. I did it to my 54. In my opinion, you don't even need a power set up (i don't have it).

Is it your intent to keep the car for yourself ? or sell it.  If you are going to sell it, I would keep it pretty stock, if not, make it the way you like it.

I will keep the car - waiting on a call back from the guy.

Got a call from the guy an hour ago. Says he is going to hold it till July for his buddy to see if he wants it. I will likely have something else located by then.
