I've seen a couple on Craiglist here in Oklahoma, but wasn't in the market and didn't get the details. It was recently though.
I would use Craiglist and another feature to locate within 100 - 200, etc. miles from you. I think it's called Site MAsh?

Just type in "Craiglist into google or whatever you use to search with.
Then you can seek any town, like your local area for example.
The other thing is to use the mash setup-which consolidates your particular search like "1955 Ford" into a search criterium. wsearch within 100, 200 300 mile etc. I would search "TOOLS" within say 300 miles. ALthough you might be more specific-Like SUN distributer machine? don't know just try it.

Alan. Are you interested in a Sun machine?. I’ve got an older one (1951 model) in the shed that I’m getting ready to use the lower cabinet for another project and will not be using the distributor portion of the machine. It’s a freebie if it can be picked up. Really too big to ship comfortably but I’ll give you first shot at it if you’re interested. And here’s a tidbit I found regarding Craigslist that reaffirms just how hungry eBay is. In April 2008, eBay announced it was suing Craigslist to "safeguard its four-year financial investment". eBay claimed that in January 2008, Craigslist executives took actions that "unfairly diluted eBay's economic interest by more than 10%". In response, Craigslist filed a countersuit against eBay in May 2008 "to remedy the substantial and ongoing harm to fair competition" that Craigslist claims is constituted by eBay's actions as Craigslist shareholders.

Co administrater , I'm impressed by the responce on your forum !!! I have my mind set on a SnapOn if there are any left at all . I don't know the last year they were sold ? , I have a Sun with a worn out speed control screw . and Yes I could use yours . I,ll pay you for your time to package it for UPS , ( Suggested $50.00 ) for your consideration . Sun cabinets make excellent work bench's . I have my valve machine on one . originally under my Antique Sun (12volt) master analizer , from the 40's !!! Thankyou ..... ALAN B , Forgot to mention , too far to drive , I'm in Blythe , Calif .

Co-administrator , I'm impressed by the responce on your forum !!! Alan. Not my forum but consider it being owned by everyone that participates. Jim just gives me the opportunity to be a moderator and I thank him for that. As such, this gives me lots of practice honing my typing skills. Regarding the Sun distributor machine, I’ll take a hard look at the unit and get an estimate on what it will cost to ship. Give me a few days for this as it’s in another building that I don’t visit very often.

I have my valve machine on one ... nice to have good casters !!! . Alan… here is an example of what i tripped across today by accident on CRAIG's list. I know it's not what YOUR looking for but it seems like it is a good deal IF I NEEDED one. 200$ and only 15 miles from my house. Stuff comes up on there everyday, so just keep checking your area-Although Ted seems to have what you need.

No kidding on the Craiglist. I bought a complete Allen Syncograph set up. BOTH Consoles including distributor machine and cabinets for $250 from less that 30 miles away. Everything in it works including the exhaust anyliser. Some parts are as new! What I need is the device to enable me to test electronic distributors on it. Anyone have or could make me one? I did a search using "Craig's helper" + "SnapOn" + 225 miles within your area. Found lots of SnapOn stuff, just not the dist machine, but try this and you'll be surprised.

I have the SUN device (DPA/pulse amp) for electronic distributors (if that would work with an ALLEN machine), and would gladly trade it for an original SUN-type monometer (if you have/can get one) so as to calibrate my vacuum gauge (for Loadomatic/points). Otherwise, I see ALLEN pulse amps for sale on ePay occasionally.
