I saved two more this weekend and got more stuff than I know what too do with. I know that I should put some of my stuff on E bay, but I don't have time and I hate the hassle of dealing with them. I have heads, blocks, cranks, rockers, intakes, bell housings, valve covers, carbs, and complete engines. I perfer that you come look at the stuff and pick up. I will ship parts, but it's 70 miles round trip to the UPS store and the heavy stuff will have to have a box made and all that adds up. I have $130 in fuel just to go pickup the two that I got Friday. I located a complete D code today in a rusty old Ranch Wagon that I am still dealing on, but the engine looks pretty good, don't know if I can complete the deal or not but let me know if interested. I just can't let them go to the scrap yard. With all that said, if you need something, let me know. You can call my cell 334-799-6577 or send me a PM here. There is alot of talk about rebuilt engines, I might be able to help someone in the southeast with a rebuilt engine. I have an excellant machine shop that I deal with. If interested call and we can talk about it.

Yes, I have a couple of dampers, but I am sure they need rebuilding. They were removed from truck engines, $25 plus shipping if interested.

I know this is a long shot, but do you have a steering wheel in good shape for a 55 ford. The one in my Townsedan is broken at the collar and will need a lot of work to repair. I'm trying to find one that may have cracks, but can be repaired pretty easy. If you have one, let me know and about how much you would want for it. thanks, Mike

I'm pretty sure the ones from the T-birds wouldn't work. I remember somewhere on this blog that someone tried to install one and it didn't fit. Thanks anyway. Mike

Sorry Guys, but I started a new job 5 Jan (same one I retired from 3 yrs ago) and have been out of town for a week. Mike, I don't have any 55 parts, sorry. Charlie, I have several gear type pumps in all conditions. I have a couple of the rotor pumps, but I have been hanging on to them thinking that I might run across a deal on rebuild kits.

There are a couple ads on Fordbarn.com, late V8 swap, guys parting '55 Fords. Also, Dan Jessop on this site has a '55 parts car, maybe he can help.

Just saw this post, and would like to chime in. Yes, I do have a parts car, but...all steering wheels I have are broken at the hub or have cracks all the way around. I have repaired these before with PC7 epoxy - it does work well. Go easy with the DREMEL tool and you will get good results. I will not have another parts car until early March, and I really did not get a good look at the steering wheel. (the car is another state away) Ebay does have good finds from time to time. However, you can expect to pay top dollar for a restored wheel or for a wheel that has no hub/center cracks. Dan

Glen: You could also run an ad in Y-Block Magazine quite reasonably and avoid the hassle of e bay. Ads start at $3.00 min or .10c/ word. It's unlikely you will run into rounders there..

Paul, I retired from a pressure cooker job back in 06 to work on my projects, the only problem is they want let me stay retired. I worked all last year as a DOD contractor and I just let them talk me into coming back as a emergency hire for a year in the same pressure cooker job I retired from. I just threw this out here in case someone on the site needed something and were not in a big hurry for it. Maybe next year I'll have time to sort everthing out and decide what I want to keep and what I need to let go off. I promise come Jan 2010 I'm retiring for good.

Glen: Unfortunately, it sounds like there are many people going out of work all over N. America. If you like, maybe someone will offer to take over the job before 2010...

Y-Guy Glen: I liked Jerry's thoughts, on this period, in our lives, that he had in YBM a few issue's back...quote "you only make one lap in this rat race, the white flag is out and as for me I'm coming into turn four. Bottom line: the clock is ticking and if you want to do something, get going." I'm jealous, of you ,who have these plans in place, and can see the light..... Bill

Plans are for a young Warrant Officer that is deployed to Iraq to take over the shop when he gets home in late Oct. I'll have a couple months to transition with him, so I'am planing on end of the year. This was'nt in my plans, but I didn't get to deploy with my unit in 2004 (health and age issues) so with this deal I fill like I'm still doing my part to support the guys and gals that are over there. They are giving up alot more than I am, so I don't need to complain.
