Holley Street Avenger Carburetor

I ended up with one of the 570 CFM carburetors in one of my trades.  Has anyone tried running this carb on a 30 over 312 with Mummert 265 cam, G-heads, Mummert internals?

It should do just fine. I'm running the same carb on my built 56 tbird to save gas at this time. Ran it on my 56 sunliner a few years ago at the ford nationals in Columbus Ohio and it did great. The 56 sunliner has a 292 and the T-bird has a built and blueprinted 312 +.

Partly on the subject of the 570 cfm Street Avenger, what are the advantages or disadvantages in terms of performance & economy of that model, compared with say the current 465 cfm regular Holley 4160 carb? Which is as far as I know, the closest model to the original 1957- 312 carb. Thanks.

As far as performance on a fairly stock engine they should perform pretty close to each other. The 570 on the other hand is a lot easier to fine tune as far as jet changes in the front and back, and the Quick change kit for the secondary springs. The 465 should be all you really need on a fairly stock to mild y-block. I can see some extra benefits from the 570 with some head porting and alittle more cam is added for extra air flow.

        Not sure how much difference this would make but the 570 is a much newer developement. Maybe it doesn't leak?
