All you old racers... are talking about trying to put together some ideas for another shootout.. The challenge is 3 fold... Finding a track that wants us to participate. Picking a geographic location that can attract the most racers. Finally we are all getting older so it will depend on how many still have the energy and enthusiasm to make the effort.. It's been a really fun and memorable evet over the last many years. A few of us would like to continue, but find a better venue... What say ye all?

Knowing a date well in advance is always a plus. I have been in a position in the past where I could not race at a given event simply due to other plans already being set in stone before that event was announced. Bob Martin typically organizes the Y-Shoot Out events and so far, I have not heard anything from him at this point in time about an upcoming Y Shootout. Part of this likely has much to do with some of the other racing franchises such as Fun Ford, NMCA, and NMRA no longer sponsoring their own racing programs. These were programs on which the Y-Block Shoot Out piggy backed upon in which to have our own race. I do understand that Ohio is Bob Martin’s home turf and because he is in Ohio, that works in his favor in having these shoot outs in Ohio. Having raced at Norwalk, Edgewater, Dragway 42, and National Trails, all in Ohio, it’s a long and hard drive for myself. Something closer to Texas would be great.

Bob has been the heart and soul of the shootout for a long time.. I know his heart is in it but I don't think he is up to traveling too far out of Ohio. There are 6 or 8 of us here in the upper midwest who would still like to get together. It would not be a proper shootout without an Eaton entry! Ted you know of and tracks half way between us that we might look into to tag on to an event. There are some up here in the Wi Ill area that have vintage events but that is just as far as driving to Ohio from Tx.. I know Dave Fuzner would like to do something he is in St Louis and he is up to travel some distance Vic and I and Jim Cochran are game

My truck hasn’t been running right for the last 4 years, that’s why I haven’t been there. It’s intermittent,I’ve been told it’s a grounding problem. We have a 48-56 Ford truck gathering the 1st weekend in October. We camp at a state park and drive around in a convoy visiting sites. I enjoy that too.
