I have a friend that has a need for a pair of wiper arms for 1955/1956 Crown Victoria or convertible.

Thanks

Has he/you tried the old car parts suppliers?

He has done some research without any luck.  I told him that I would inquire for him on this website.

Concours Parts left & right wiper arms & blades for 55/56 Crown Victoria & convertibles $79.95. Part No. B5A-17525-K.

Those are generic arms and don't fit all models.  The convertible and Crown Victoria are shorter due the car's lower roof.

Notice there are two different lengths. Does he have the take-offs for measurement?

64 - 2DR HDTP VICTORIA/CROWN
76 - SUNLINER

Both the 55 & 56 low roof take the same windshield.

For our 1956 Victoria I found my 2 new chrome arms on E-Bay. The arms are the 11” are incorrect by the manual.  The blades are 12”  Tricos from a GM supplier. They miss the top of the windshield rubber trim seal by 1/8”. I am tall and they work perfect for me and where I look thru the glass. I also have installed the Newport 2-speed electric motor system.
It is a possibility there are Trico 10” blades also available thru the restoration shops…. I’m not trying for perfection…http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/31e7597f-8a9d-4fa3-99cd-736.jpeg.

He doesn't have the take offs, they were missing.  The Ford parts book seems to be somewhat misleading.  I also own a '56 Victoria and I measured my arms as well.  They are also 11 inches long.
I had thought about the shorter wiper blade trick as well!
Good looking car!

Thanks
Jeff

The Ford parts book seems to be somewhat misleading.

Ain't that the truth ...

The way I cipher it, the 55/56 low roof takes the 9.56" L arms. The high roof takes the 11" L arms.

The stock length on the blades was 12"

DENNIS CARPENTER shows repro arms for the 11".

I can see why he is frustrated.

Possibly the answer can be found @ CROWN VICTORIA ASSOCIATION.

1955 - 1956 FORD - MERC ROOF LINES

The 1955 FORD VICTORIA and 1955 MERCURY MONTEREY COUPES both got the highroof-line while the 55 FORD CROWN VICTORIA and 1955 MERCURY MONTCLAIR both got the low roof-line.

In 1956,all trim-level FORD and MERCURY 2DR HDTP got the low roof-line.
