I have a Ford factory power steering assembly complete. Does not have a pitman arm or idler assembly. Will the standard steering PA or IA work with this PS set up?

The Idler Arm assembly is different on P/S for sure. Pitman arm I will check my Parts Catalog. If the Control Valve or Ram is leaking I would suggest Rock Auto for Brand New not rebuilt Units. I had both mine rebuilt and started leaking again 2 Years later. The brand new Ones have lifetime Warranty  and are imported by Lares Corp and sold for less than Lares price through Rock Auto. Made in China (what else is new?) But Fit and work perfectly. I have both on mine and very happy with them plus the lifetime Warranty.

The Pitman Arm is the same on power steering and manual steering cars (at least on 1954 cars with which I am familiar).

If You are not familiar with the Ford Parts Catalog it shows 54-56 Pitman Arm is the same for Power or Manual Steering.

I also purchased from Rock Auto and happy with quality. However, have only done about 500 miles and left turn feels like manual steer, but right turn is still easy. Any ideas? Thanks, Al.

Possibly the hoses on backwards at control valve or cylinder?
