Y-Guys Charlie will be after another record this coming weekend in North Carolina at the "Maxon Mile". Reed and I planned to go "Cheer" them on but, things happen and we aren't going to make it. Any "Y" Guys, close by,should try to go and support them. Who knows?, you may get to "spray" some bubbley stuff when they get another record with that "BAD" Y. Bill Charlie, practice up on the brakes, we don't need another gravel ride like Columbus!!!!!!!!!!

Bill, Thanks a lot for the Columbus reminder (end of track tour, I am still removing gravel from the nooks and crannies). Sorry you and Reed will not be able to make it. We still plan to stop in Birmingham on the way home. How exciting that Charlie M might be there. I made the changes for a little added horsepower. We'll see if it works, I have never gone 123 in the 1.0 mile before. The best has been 121 at the one mile mark at Bonneville. Later......................Charlie

Will y'all be there Sunday? That will be the only day I can make it if I can go. Where's Gary? He shouldn't be too far from there.

Charlie, Maxton is a two event, however, I will leave as soon we are successful or I feel there is no possibility to break the record, which ever comes first. Please email me personally and we will exchange cell phone numbers. That way you will get the information you need and be first to know how it went. Gary, Maxton is near the South Carolina border and about 80-100 miles from the coast. It is not on all maps, but the nearest town is Laurinburg. It would be an honor to see you there. Later...........................

I'm not going to make it. I need to conserve cash. Good luck, though. Hopefully your modifications give the extra power you need for the record.

Good luck Charlie, I love hearing the exploits of our favorite engine and you certainly have one of the best and I'm wishing you the BEST OF LUCK, in getting another record.

Talked to Charlie a half hour ago, He set a new record at Maxton.120.3 and some change. Had enough room to shut down. I'm sure when he gets to internet service he'll fill us in.

Sweet! I couldn't find any gas last night. So even if I did not need to conserve money I probably would not have had the gas to get out of Atlanta.

Great news! Congradulations Charlie and Corene!!!! Its great to here that nothing yet can compete with a 50 year old Y block for its class. This trailer needs to be changed to Land Speed Record Holder, Not just racing. Again, Congrats!!!!!!

Charlie, We heard about the gas shortage in Atlanta and filled up the camper and 15 gallons in jugs in Maxton. Made it all the way to Birmingham, AL to visit Reed and Bill. Maxton was great. The record was confusing, but the race director assured me our speed would be the new record. However, it hasn't shown up on the web site yet.
