I’m installing a new 90* angle drive to solve a cable problem. Should it be lubed before installation? It looks like I would squirt some ATF where the nylon gear will go. Is that correct?

I think it's a sealed unit that doesn't need any lube.  But I guess it wouldn't hurt

Paul you are correct. After looking down in each end I could seals and there was new grease showing. I did grease the nylon gear to hold it in place.. For the last few years after a rear end swap I’ve had to use an external gear “transmission” to get the speedometer accurate. Because of the angle the cable was tight to the floorboard hump I was always concerned as mounts wear and the hump where I needed the room was hard to bend. The Thunderbird angle drive with the gear box worked perfectly. The cable was long enough for a nice transition.
