The ford part number is B5S7085-A. It was used on 56TB with T-85 OD trans only. Thanks for reply.. Bill Oregon

I see you have not had a reply. Have you tried Hills Thunderbird. They have a ton of used Thunderbird parts.

I have searched coast to coast, they are out there just not reaching right fella. Many of TB have been changed over to later power trains and parts get scraped or stuffed in corner. Bracket could be maked (probably what will happen) just hoping to find one.

I can’t trace that part number, so I can’t tell what you’re looking for. Draw a picture, take a picture, and post it. Or answer Paul’s question. I’ve done 5 trans changes on my 55 birds, never had a problem making it work. Including a T-85 o/d. But we can’t help if we don’t know exactly what your looking for.
Last resort, try the Ford Barn. Some members over there, especially KULTULZ seem to have all the old parts catalogs and numbers.

Hello Thanks for reply. Miker The part number shows up in ford parts book . This bracket was a 1956 ONLY part. Ford used this when they started puting T-85 OD trans (Mercury) trans jn TB. Bill Oregon

Can you post a picture of the Ford IPB for the part? I just converted my '55 TBird 3 speed OD to a T-5, and I know you said it was a '56 part only. I have all the left over parts in good condition. The trans was rebuilt, the OD solenoid was refurbished, and it worked as advertised, I just hated having to stop to put it into first gear. There is a rectangular bracket that sits in a rubber insulator that bolts to the transmission crossmember. Is that what you need? Joe-JDC

Thanks for replies. I don't have pic. Saw one in TB magazine years ago (difference between 56 vs 57 T-85 OD trans) like I mentioned, only 56TB with T-85 OD trans. Joe your TB is a (55?) should have light duty OD or STD trans not T-85. Bracket only used on T-85.

Cos, the part number you gave is a '55 number. I looked in the Ford parts book, the correct number is B6S-7085-A. It fits '56 and '57 Birds. Your number started B5S. I could not find an illustration in the book. The 7085 in the number indicates it as a frame part, but it is not detailed in the frame illustrations. My Birds are '56 with small transmission, and '57 with automatic, I have never seen that part. Interesting post.

I installed a T-85 OD transmission from a "56 T-Bird ( Mercury ) in my "57 T-Bird. The part referenced is stamped steel and mounts on the T-85 to extend to the '57 T-Bird rear transmission mount. Mine came with the transmission. Ernie

The first two pictures above are the transmission mount. They bolt together, and then to the transmission crossmember that bolts into the X frame. One is the old rubber that is flattened down, and the new one beside it. Joe-JDC

Concours Parts has an exploded view of an O/D transmission that shows the 7085 bracket in the drawing on page 38 of the 2022 catalog. Perhaps someone knows how to paste the image on here for others to see.

It looks like the 7085 mount is not reproduced. Best bet is to try the Tbird parts suppliers that also deal in used parts. CASCO,. Hill's, Prestige. Others are Adrian Lorii 570-709-0832, Tony's Classics 515-321-0767.

Thanks for tip. I have talked to all of those fellas. One supplier mention he was thinking about repro them. It has been done before, not that technical to do but do need a press break. Will wait to see if one shows up or someone repro them. Thanks Bill Oregon
