I am wondering if a Ford AOD transmission will bolt up to a Y Block engine, I sure would like to have a overdrive in my Vic. Thanks, Ray

You will need an adapter. I can't remember who makes it, but expect to pay $800-$1,000, just for the adapter, and don't expect it to be a simple conversion.

The only kit problem I had was the crankshaft adapter need machined to fit in the end of the crankshaft. Easily corrected and this was many years ago and I'm sure its been corrected by now. The only part that has given me problems is the high torque starters. With the adapter they are the only one you can use. Mine have had a tendency to collect moisture through the winter and resulted in multiple rebuilds and several replacements. The scrub (gm) style starters work by removing the aluminum adapter and bolting the starter straight to the adapter plate. As far as performance I'm very satisfied.
