So Pat when are you coming back to the Y-Block Nationals or is the movie star role taking too much of your time! Miss you and that air conditioned black beast!

In April of 1957 NASCAR banned a lot of stock parts that were currently used. Every manufacturer was hit. Superchargers, 3-2’s, 2-4’s FI etc we’re banned and only 4 barrel carbs allowed. It stayed that way until recently. Big blocks took a hit in the late 70’s I think making them not competitive.
Over the years each brand was hit with an individual rule at times and that is still happening. For 2022 it looks like the only differences in cars will be the engines and we are lucky to see that. Every NASCR Truck uses an Illmor 396” spec engine no matter what brand. This year I’m looking for pit crews, stops and strategy being the biggest factor. ….

Another reason that I no longer have any interest in watching NASCAR. Even the cars are cookie cutters with different decal packs to denote the brand.
