Surfing the web today, I came across an article about cars that had been dumped on the shore of Lake Michigan.  The last picture is of what's left of some Ford product.  Y powered with dual exhausts, stamped a arms and other clues, but beyond my knowledge of what year or model it might be.
Article is here:

Y Block engine, heads still on, exhaust manifolds (dual) and rockers still intact.  Looks like the distributor is in pretty sad shape

57 or later with flat top exhaust manifolds.  My memory is fading - what was the first year the stamped in F-O-R-D valve covers appeared? Was it 58?

There was a time in the 40's and 50's when old vehicles were being used to stop erosion. A lot of river banks were lined with them. Not till years later was it declared a problem and now its a media circus. Next we'll be concerned about the midden mounds those silly Indians left around their villages. Totalcar Magazine - Features - Car wrecks against erosion
