Has anyone compared Mummert's 1.54 rocker assemblies to the 1.6 Harland Sharp roller-tip rocker arms? I would think that the difference in performance between 1.54 and 1.6 ratios would be negligible. What about quality? I'm looking at valve-spring seat pressure of 110 lbs. and approximately 280 open. Will my OEM adjusters/w lock nuts fit the Mummert rocker arms?

I've been running the Harland and Sharp for several years now. No issues and I'm happy with them. No way I can say for sure how they compare with anything else. Quality is excellent though. Not sure if a comparison dyno test has been done.

Tank you, Slumlord.

Mummert no longer offers rocker shafts/w slotted oil holes, stating there were some manufacturing issues.

I have dyno tested the 1.4’s, 1.54’s, and the 1.6’s against each other on the iron heads.  I’ve also tested the 1.54’s and 1.6’s on the aluminum heads in a similar back to back test.  The conclusion is that the Ford Y loves valve lift.  In summary, increased rocker arm ratios gives an increase in power.  I’ll also add that as the head flow increases, the more the need for increased rocker arm ratios.  Exact numbers on these tests will be in a future article for The Y-Block Magazine.
