Hi mate ,sorry for late reply but cant respond on my phone for some reason ! so i have to use my lap top from home. My address is . M Taylor, 21 Chanctonbury Close, Rustington, Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN16 2JB. UK. Im guessing that postage and taxes will make this an expensive exercise but lets see. Best regards Martyn.

Martyn: for what it's worth, those aluminum castings can be Arc welded... P.S.- looked back at your post & realized you didn't say what your intake was? Cast iron or aluminum?.

Hi mate, yeah its the originol cast 4 barrel manifold, it leaks from a crack by the front [Your nearside] right hand bolt. unfortunatley Y block stuff over here is rarer than 'unobtanium' you wont even find a nut and bolt for em on ebay uk. To be honest i dont need a 2 or 3 carb set up, but if its gonna cost an arm and a leg to get stuff shipped over whatever type it may be, i may as well look into all avenues and costings .I should of said the motor is a 292 in a 57 Fairlane country sedan, its unusual in that its a right hand drive as it came from Ford South Africa. Regards Martyn.

Martyn: An experienced Welder & Brazer can probably fix your casting.. Done right & installed carefully it should work fine.. The main thing with brazing cast is to align the pieces carefully & to avoid the casting being chilled when cooling.. Wrap or submerge the job in a welders blanket or other suitible covering & cool it "slow"..
