Y-blocks are back on top. Charlie set a 2 way ave of 122 on a 119 record. His competition and previous record holder has not cracked 120 yet with a Dodge trck with a destroked small block MoPar. They are now on the road heading for Columbus

All right Charlie!!!!!!!!!  See you in Columbus, although you probably won't see this note before you get there.  Y-Blocks rule the salt-----AGAIN!!

CONGRATULATIONS CHARLIE! Keep on braking the records. The world is watching your journey Wink.

Charlie - we applaud your hard work and your efforts - keep that Y going strong! It is great to hear about the Y in any speed record. If more of us were able to do your kind of work and participate in those kinds of meets, the Y would hold more records...Wink

Just knowing that the Y-Block is capable of handling that kind of severe duty makes me breath easier knowing my "pampered princess" should last a good long time!!BigGrin

So Charlie and his wife show up at Columbus. Talk about fitting right in with the gang. Nice folks. Also his high speed purpose built small cube Y-block with a SUPER heavy cage is running in the 15's. And thats with a 270 rear. He did take a shot at the sand pit in the runoff today but I'm sure Jim and Bob will have that story! Charlie said "I'm used to having a 2 mile shut off area"!

Great time being had by all. Chuck from NH in OH

Great job Charlie, I only wish I could be there! Nice to hear you made the 15s, I'm sure you would do a lot better if you were set up for that kind of racing.

Chuck, actually he ran an 18.30 @ 88mph. He has a 4.33 rear.

Pinto,

Whoa.... Thanks for clearing that up! Sounded pretty dang quick for a small inch engine with 2.70 gears!!!!! Even if it was blown or had NOS it would be hard to get in the 15's.

I probably had my head under my hood (again) when I thought I heard that! Well he sill ran great for a salt car. I got through the weekend with a running car that sounds good. Cured an ignition problem on Saturday (no runs) and had one pass for a 17.20 on Sunday. Suffs gettin better all the time! Chuck in NH

Greg.............I missed sharing a brew or two too.  It was great to meet you and all your fellow race maniacs.  It was also good to learn about Y-Blocks from NZ.  Don't count us out on visiting some time.  For an update on our trip, see "Y-Blocks at car shows", also in "Racing".

Would love to see any pictures you have, please email if you don't mind..................

Charlie and Corene spent a couple of days here on their way south. We took them over to Intercourse PA to see some Amish. Here's a picture of Charlie checking out some Lancaster County horsepower.

Thanks Dennis, you captured my best side.  We had a great time and the girls are still emailing.  Tomorrow is tech and Saturday is the test.  Chance of light rain in the forecast.  I'm nervous, but confident.

Go get 'em Charlie!!!!  Best of luck.
