Has anyone considered making oil pan rail reinforcements for Y-blocks. Wouldn't they reduce/eliminate pan leaks?

The pan rail of a Y has dimples or flutes, which prevents a flat reinforcement from being used, which would make a similar item expensive to manufacture.  That would be compounded by the fact that it is a small market (small quantities are more expensive, per unit, to manufacture than large quantities).

It would probably require someone with a particular interest in the Y to manufacture, and a real need for it.  Sealing the oil pan doesn't seem to be a significant problem.

When I have an oil pan off I always use a punch to take the dimple out of the bolt holes. They get pulled in from being over tightened just like the valve covers. Make sure the rail as straight and level and have no damage in the seal surfaces.

I don’t know about the Large Ford trucks but the large truck GMC 6’s 270 and 302 had a pan with an addictional 1/8” steel strap over the existing holes. Did Ford do that?
