Hello all. I have a 292 y-block engine and ford-o-matic transmission that was in my customline. It ran when pulled, but it could probably use a rebuild. The heads are ECZ-G, non posted. It is complete, minus a distributor. I also have a set of exhaust manifolds, a second 2bbl intake, and a cast timing cover I can throw in as well. Looking for $400 obo. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.

That's one of the problems..shipping cost for that heavy unit can be prohibitive.. plus this is a bad time, (Covid 19) for business in general. U might get lucky & find  someone local, but it's a maybe?. I'm not in the market for it, but it's condition overall is also a ? mark. Price could also be a  problem, maybe...  Good luck..

Yeah, I understand that it's a lot of weight to ship anywhere. I'd hate to scrap it, but I need to get it out of the garage that it's in soon. The price is negotiable.

A wild guess, anyone, what this engine minus trans would cost shipped to say Michigan? I know this is an unfair question but I never shipped an engine or know anyone who has.

I had a complete 292 with flywheel, clutch, exhausts, shipped from NC to TX for $200.00 through Fastenal.  However, since then, I got burned by them, so not an endorsement.  It has to be on a pallet, and the receiver must pay shipping ahead of time and be able to haul away a palleted engine.  I hear that the price is now $300.00.   Joe-JDC

If all else fails, the ECZ-G heads may bring a fair buck, although a lot of buyers think they need to be posted ones. (not normally true, particularly if they've have never been milled,.. but it's the market..)

I could strip it all down and sell certain parts off of it, but I'd like to try and sell it all as one unit first.

Still have the fordomatic? Can't tell from the pic — is it air-cooled or the later water-cooled?

I  paid $400 to ship a engine with transmission from West Virginia to Michigan.  The guy put it on a pallet and took it to a trucking company.  I had to go and get it at a dock.  They put in my pickup using a fork lift.

I sold the transmission to a guy in Utah and I think he only paid around $175.  I had to put it on a pallet and the trucking came to my house to pick it up.

FYI..  The engine I bought was so rusted, I salvaged nearly nothing..

I do still have the ford-o-matic. It is the air-cooled version

Are the engine and trans still available?  I'm in Raleigh and interested.
