Hello guys. Been reading about how the 471 heads are best for blown applications. Why is this? Is it just the chamber size? More resistant to detonation than a small chamber? do they flow more than the 113's? Are the deck pads thicker? What's the difference between having a large chamber with a zero deck piston vs. a small chamber with a dished piston, or a piston lower in the cylinder. Asking strictly to be informed as to why everyone uses the 471 heads for blown applications and what advantages/disadvantages there might be in each cyl head for a blown engine. I'm a novice at best, just looking to be educated.

The 471 heads have larger combustion chambers than the 113 heads. The 113 combustion chambers are nominally sized at 72cc while the 471 heads are nominally sized at 82cc.
