Hello I am going to pick up my block tomorrow from the machine shop, I want start to assemble the engine this weekend . I have purchase all the parts I need except the rear seal. I see there are a few options out there can I get some ideas what you guys think is the best to use. Thanks

Did you get a gasket set? It should be with that.
Best Gasket is a good one.

I did get the gasket set but have not opened the box , I guess I will see if it was included

I used a Neoprene Seal with "The Right Stuff" in Place of the supplied Side Seals. So far its dry.

If you haven’t read Ted Eaton’s article on the rear main seals, read it first. 292’s haven’t been as much of a problem, but the 312’s with the “orange” seal were a real problem. Guess how I know.

I had never had a Ford YBlock that did not leak from the real seal. After reading Ted's article, I followed his instructions and my 292 doesn't leak. It's not the seal, it's the rear seal retainer that's most of the problem. Great info.
