Hello I have never taken a door apart , I would like to change the window rollers . Does the glas have to be removed or can I remove just the regulator an install the new rollers . Thanks for any reply.

It can be done with glass in place. A little hard to get clip released from pin but once they are loose, you can remove the old rollers, put new rollers on channel and then push pin back into place. New replacements are plastic and originals were metal. Ben

I put 4 of the plastic ones in about 3 years ago when I did all the window tracks etc. on my bird. One failed probably before the window cycled 100 times. I fixed it and left the rest (you can pull the window up by hand and hold it with duct tape to get home in mine), but if I were doing it again, I’d be looking for metal ones, or rebuilding the originals if posssible.

Vehicles came with plastic ones in the 60s so so they cannot be patently a bad idea. However, a new one is most likely Chinese so that does bring quality into question. Check eBay for NOS to find originals. Don't know that any are listed now but they're bound to turn up if you keep looking.
