Can someone identify this?  I am not an F code expert.. It may not be a Ford part

If memory serves me correct (big assumption) that’s a little different than the one I got from Pegleg at rebop. If nothing turns up here, try one of the Stude sites. Those guys seem to recognize everything from the early days, even the Kaiser parts for the blowers.

That looks like the cap that went on the carburetor of a 1953 L-head larger size Ford truck engine. The air filter was mounted over on the inner fender with a hose that ran from it to the carb cap.

Definitely not a truck item... I would be interested to hear what Pegleg says about it

RB, if it turns out NOT to be particularly valuable I would be interested in buying it if you are interested in selling it. Love the vintage look and have an idea for a single plenum cold air intake on my 55 CV. PM me or post here if interested. Thanks

No Idea but military and off road vehicles used some hats also, they would go to a hose and pipe up the vehicle to roof line in case they went through deep water. I have some from old jeeps or something, I don't thing mine are cast though, fabricated tin.

By looking at the photos I don't think this is even a Ford part. It's definitely not an "F" code bonnet, The part no is not like any FoMoCo number I ever saw. That all being said it also looks to me like it should work just fine with enough hood clearance.

hi Royce! I think it's off a international truck? looks like a international part #! they used 2140 & 400 holleys on there 549 v-8's clear into the late 60's! hose went to the air cleaner! I've got one that came off a street sweeper with a 345 IH v-8 with a 2300 holley! you can find them in truck gunkyards!
