I put in a new Mac's headlight switch and it seems to be getting hot. Anyone else have this problem and who still sells OEM or American made switches?

as odd as it may sound, try ebay. There are a lot of original stuff on there, including both OEM and old replacement parts (NORS USA made stuff). The only thing to be careful of for OEM and NORS parts that are rubber as the rubber may have gone bad.

Re hot switch; Are you running std headlites or something of higher output? It's my understanding that Halogen lites draw more power & std 1956-57 light swiches will overheat unless a relay is used. And then there can be wire load issues also.. For instance, 1958 switches are heavier because of the 4 headlite system.
