Next issue; my AM radio will take about 15 seconds to warm up? then it starts working but there is that loud buzzing annoying sound & the volume knob does not change it, it's just loud all the time?

If it is the original radio it has a mechanical vibrator in the radio's power supply that emits a buzzing sound as soon as it is switched on. If the buzz is so loud that you can't hear the music you may have additional problems. There are solid state devices available that replace the vibrator and they don't buzz, If the radio plays ok and the music can be turned up louder than the mechanical buzz it could be normal. If you heard a few of the radios with vibrators you would eventually learn what is a normal buzz.

After removing the knobs and then the nuts that hold it to the dash, disconnecting the wires and the brace in the back, it should drop down as you are pulling it out from the back.

Just FWIW. In my day all radios were like that. They were tubes, and the vibration was hard on them. Unless you're really into a restoration, remove it and store it. You can probably buy a modern replacement from someone like custom auto sound for less than repairing it. For a lot of money you can get it "modernized" with electronics, FM, and ipod inputs. Of course that isn't worth much without more speakers. Your call.
Me, the exhaust is my music.

I just found out about that yesterday, how they can take your old radio & put FM & blue tooth & all kinds of stuff now- wow - it's cool but yes lots of $$$$ If I can just get it working like back in the day will be good, I have it out & a guy in town here repairs all kinds of old radios so I'm going to let him give it a shot.
