Since you're not getting anything here, try over at the Ford Barn. There's some social groups that probably have what you're looking for.

common swap with those trucks was the Volare front end with torsion bar suspension

Do yuorself a favor,stay away from the Volare front end it's a nightmare to keep aligned as the torsion bars tend to loose their torsion after a short time and the y block is too heavy for them.And it is very difficult to get any upgrde parts for it!!!!

I'd stay with the straight axle. Upgrade the springs and brakes,add a sway bar and I think you would be surprised.

2X what 62bigwindow said.  Took all the "farm truck" out of my '56 by using a 3" dropped axle, 3" lowering springs that center the axle in the wheel opening, and a sway bar.  The truck drives exceptionally well.
