The rear in my wagon (dana 44) is going to need rebuilt. While I'm at it I'm going to swap gear cases and put in 3.73 gears. I found a used 30 spline case with spider and side gears for a real good price. Is it possible to convert the 19 spline dana to 30 spline? I've been getting conflicting opinions.

I can't help, all I know is the trucks used a different axle than the 'birds. Turned out my bird had a truck rear under it, which explained the lousy welds on the perches. About the wagons and interchange I just don't remember after 20 years. But these guys will know, and probably have anything else you need. They're local to me and first rate.

i have a new dana 44gear set 3.73, may have axel gears as well will have to look,i,my gear set comes with new style pin. flag to match new style fine spine pinion. i want 150 us . my email is ct1940@shaw.ca if interested let my know i can ship from blain wa for 25.$.ps my side gears ar 19 spline(truck axels) fit.
why do you want thefiner spline? if the wheel patern is the isue possibly the truck axels could be modified.
