Anyone know the correct length of the final rod running to clutch fork? Bought complete assembly and looking like the one I was sold may be to short at 7 3/8 inches. At end of adjust and only have half pedal throw.
Thanks...

The 1949-1959 parts and accessories catalog shows this part (B6A-7521-A)  for 55-57 T-Bird to be 7 3/4 inches long.

Hello  The parts for the assembly 7507,7528,7537 all have a B5S prefix. This indicates T-bird only. The 7521 ( rod) has a (A) part number which is regular car part. If the assembly you have is for a regular car that might be your  problem. I do not have a car assembly to do a side by side comparison.  I have found if a part has  S in perfix that equals more value.

The correct # is in fact B6A-7521-A for 55-58 Ford Passenger Cars and 55-57 Thunderbirds. It is 7 3/4 Inches long. However there is also an earlier listing for 54-55 Ford and 55 Thunderbird which is 8.5 " Long. Part # AD -7521-A. Listed for S/T and O/D same as the B6A-7521-A Application. The Rod from the Pedal to Idler Lever is the same for all 55-57 T-Bird Applications at 15 13/32 Long. The Idler Lever is the same for all 55-57 Thunderbirds. The Clutch Pedal itself is different for 1955 and 1956-57. There is no indication of "late" or "early" production for 1955. All 1955 are part # B5S-7519-B. 56-57 are B6S-7519-A. Maybe this Info will be helpful? Maybe some of the Guys who know the 55-57 Birds can shed some Light. I just reread your earlier Information. If You are using Aftermarket Clutch and Bearing its possible the Fingers on the Clutch aren't as High as the Original and the Bearing may not be as thick. These variances could be why You only have half Pedal. You may have to make up a longer Rod from Idler to the Fork. If the Rod from Pedal to Idler is the correct Length You may have to do this.

In my experence different parts over the years can  make things not fit quite right. Put a large input toploader in mine and had to end up lenghting the rod to get proper clutch adjustment . Lenghing or shortening the threaded rod is not a big deal to get it right.

Yeah that was the plan till I lost the damn rod in my disaster garage, think it fell in the garbage can. Just bought a replacement from another Ford that is 2" longer so will have a plenty. Thanks...

Oldcarmark.  EXCELLENT digging in the Ford parts books in an effort to find a solution for Gary's problem.  Too, your comments about possible differences in replacement part components like pressure plate fingers and throw-out bearings speak to the reality of working with aftermarket parts.  Slumlords testimony about his experience reinforces everything you brought to the table, too.
