1956 ford part # is AB 7561-a and 1957 ford part # is B7a 7561-b and these are listed as different parts in the classic car catalogs and the appearance is different; mercury is similar but different. The bearings look the same, at least on the fords. The clutch release lever, B7a 7515-a, shows the same from 1952 to 1959 ford Y-blocks.
Are any of these hubs interchangeable? If not, is there a simple explanation as to what is different?
Thank you, Pat in Arizona

What exactly are You trying to do with Throw out Bearings. Not sure why You need to know if they are the same?

It's the hub I am asking about because I may install a latter year, 1957 or latter, transmission into a 1954 ford. The bearings all appear to be the same.

My thought would be the front bearing Retainer on the Transmission is a different OD for 56 and 57. You would use the Bearing to go with the Transmission You are using. I will check my Parts Catalog in the Morning and see if Dimensions are listed for 54 and 57 front Bearing Retainer..

If you find that to be, I'd appreciate knowing it.

There's no Dimensions for OD of the front Bearing retainer Snout where the release bearing Hub rides. When they used to sell the Hub and Bearing separately the Bearing itself is the same from 55-57 with regular Clutch. The Hub is different between 56 and 57 which is why I think the ID of the Bearing is different. Someone else on here would probably know if my Assumption is correct. Use the Bearing assembly for the Year of Transmission.
