There must be more sites than the one I'm listing here available to us ...but my machinist showed me this site when I was looking for a couple of aluminum bars and didn't want to drive all over town.

www.onlinemetals.com

Those (4) 1.0 x 1.0 square aluminum bars (x 9.0 long) used to lower the A-arm spring pans on a '55 or '56 can be ordered "cut to length" - and all you have to do is drill the holes.....

I've used Mcmaster-Carr on a few occasions. It is an industrial supply that has raw metals, too.

For people near Atlanta, there is The Metal Supermarket in Doraville and Georgia Steel in Atlanta. I usually use the Metal Supermarket as it is just a few miles from me.

Thanks for the tips guys! I looked up the  www.onlinemetals.com  and found they also have some things like delrin and carbon graphite stock also. Now I've got to come up with something for the bird made from that. Carbon graphite valve covers?Tongue

I usually just pick up aluminum & acrylic scrap from my buddies fab shop for free. hard to beat the price.

If what you want the alum bars for is to lower the front of your car you might want to look into doing it with Ford 2wd aerostar coils, they fit '49 to '59 ford front ends and are a direct bolt in.  They'll give you about 2 1/2" drop and ride better than stock.  They cost me a little over $60 at Checker Auto.  Just a thought.

Supreme Being I bought '90 Ford Aerostar 2wd coils and they fit perfectly, they have to be 2wd, if you get awd coils they will not fit.
