The head of my oil pan plug requires a 1-1/8 " wrench for removal and I think the actual threads are 7/8" NC , is there a interchange adapter available that can replace this big plug? I'm having trouble with the plug leaking, appreciate any suggestions. Thank you and God Bless.

Would it be easier to change the nylon gasket on the plug? Macs and Carpenters have them.

That's the problem, I can't keep them from leaking.

I recommend a brass drain valve. I have had one for many years, and love it. No more plug washers, wrenches, or fishing a dropped plug out of the catch pan. Just use black RTV if your pan threads are worn so no more leaks. You don't even need to jack up the car to change oil. Just slide a pan underneath and reach for the valve lever. Once closed, there is absolutely no risk of accidentally opening it due to the spring-loaded/rotating safety lever design. The only drawback is the inability to utilize a plug magnet to catch metal shavings, so those with fresh rebuilds may want to wait awhile before installing a valve.
