Hello all, just a quick note to introduce myself.  My name is Ed.  I just bought a '54 Mercury Monterey like the one  I had in high school so this is nostalgia kicking in.  Enjoyed Model A's for a number of years, then had a number of VW's (mostly trucks) until recently.  Garage space is now limited so I'm down to one toy and I had a yearning for V8's and dual exhaust for a few years now.  Just googled a question about an oil leak at the road draft filter and found this site.  Looks like a fun place to be.

Welcome aboard! We have several New Englanders here one is located in Turner, Maine. He is a big time Y-Block guy and fixer. May be able to help you with the V-8 itch. He's on here as Yeehaw Bill. I'm in Manchester, NH. The Y-block has come back to life in the last 20years. We now have a lot of new equipment available including aluminum cylinder heads. Welcome. This is a nice site, friendly members and way more than just the y block. Good info on chassis, brakes, etc. on our years of cars.

From the northwest corner of the left coast, outside Seattle.

Close enough? And the ongoing story of Chuck's faulty memory continues! Thanks Dennis.

Welcome to the site.  Amazing how many 1954 Fords and Mercs have survived.  Is yours still the original 256 engine with 4V carb?
