I feel like an idiot. I have the service manual, but can't find the lash specs. Anyone know them off hand? There is also an article somewhere where Tim Mcmaster had a video. Can't find that either Help Jim

With a stock cam valve lash spec is 0.19" set hot, intake and exhaust. If your cam is other than stock use the cam grinder's recommendation. If you don't know what cam you have (as in my case) set 'em to 0.19. You may give up a little of your cam but at least you won't burn valves.

Jim. I think the two links below are what you're looking for. Two different videos and ways to adjust the valve lash done by Tim McMasters, Internet address Y-Block Guy.com
First method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqG-Q_kVI3s
Second method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIB9m1Kp61o
Hope this helps.

If You are adjusting used Rocker Arms the Feeler Gauge will give inaccurate Gap. .019 is 1/4 Turn from Zero Lash. Because of the wear Pattern on the Arms You can't accurately measure Gap between Arm and the tip of the Valve. You will almost always end up with more than .019 Gap.

You are correct- 1/4 turn from Zero Lash. I will correct my previous Post.

Here's the math. At 20 tpi (threads per inch) on the adjuster, then 0.019” would be 3/8 of a turn. That's assuming a 1:1 rocker ratio. But with 1.54 rockers, it will be 1/4 turn when taking the rocker ratio into account.

The 1/4 turn method takes into account the rocker ratio. 1/20" (.05") x 1/4" = .0125. On the valve end, that is .019" with 1.54:1 or .018 with 1.43:1.

Charlie. Thanks for the correction as I did not take into account the rocker arm ratio. It is indeed ¼ turn to get 0.019” at the valve with 1.54:1 rockers.
