Needing a little help with my 59 Fairlane new water pump new 4 row high efficiency rad. Still wants to climb and peak doesn't boil over just pegs the gage. when I shoot it with a heat gun my temps seem to be the same both going in and coming out the rad.( 195') core temp is around the same. Pretty sure I need to turn the pump a little faster. Soon as I speed up more RPM little more air the temp comes back down. Dose anyone know off hand what smaller pulley I could use and specifically what year and model would fit. Thanks Dave 406-698-0489

I don't have an application for you. The bolt and pilot pattern is very common. Measure your pulley then go look for one in a junk yard or go to Summitracing to see if you can look them up by dimensions or contact the actual pulley manufacturers to see if they produce something that will work. It will be ok if the pulley is a little deeper than you need because you can space it out to line up the belt but it cannot be shallower.

What size is your current pulley? There are were alot of different sizes used throughout the years on y blocks. Maybe someone will have one you need.

I bought a pully for a 302 Mustang 67-68 era. Pully is about 5-1/2". I needed a spacer kit to move it out about 1/8" as I remember, the kit came from Summitt along with the pully. It was chrome and you could get it with 1 or 2 groves. I scotch brited it and painted it semi-gloss black. I needed a slightly shorter v-belt. It solved the same heat up problem you are having. Good luck.

There was an article on here recently about using a pulley from a slant 6 which is a little smaller and fits correctly. Dave V

Good luck but your still not moving water at idle. There is one more trick to put a plug with a 1/8" hole in it in the bypass hose.

I've done a little research and came up with Ford part # C5OE-8509-A. It's 6.11" Diameter 2.43" Depth and there are new ones offered by Mac's if you can't find a used one.
